This is an exceptional example of the Swiss Model 1943 Officer’s Dagger, complete with its original scabbard and red/white portepee.
A particularly important feature of this dagger is its low serial number 4319. Production of the Model 1943 Officer’s Dagger began in 1943, making this an early production example from one of the first manufacturing batches. Such low serial numbers are seldom encountered today and are highly sought after by collectors, making this a scarce and desirable early piece.
The blade is in outstanding condition and is marked with the serial number 4319 on one ricasso, while the opposite ricasso bears the manufacturer's stamp. It retains the original factory transverse cross-graining (frosted finish), a feature rarely preserved in such exceptional condition.
Overall, the dagger remains in superb MINT condition and would be extremely difficult to upgrade. A rare early example, ideal for an advanced collection or as a prestigious gift.
