1914 Iron cross clasp 1st class by C.E. Juncker, Berlin. Tombac constructed spange with soldered on set up. very early unmarked Juncker clasp, so called 1st pattern variant with scalloped date bar. The clasp features a deep patina — fully black, with very well-preserved detailing. Its condition reflects less-than-ideal storage conditions. C.E. This first pattern spange, only produced in the earliest stage of the war was awarded in 1939 and during the Blitzkrieg, afterwards the second pattern was produced widely to replace these early pieces.
