World War I steel trench combat knife, manufactured by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie).

The blade is in excellent condition. The ricasso bears the early maker’s mark — the image of a king’s head and a knight’s helmet (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie). This early trademark was used by the company during the late Imperial period.

The hilt features metal fittings painted black and is fitted with checkered grip panels. The grips are in excellent condition, showing a fine diamond checkering pattern and secured with rivets. There is minor damage on one side. The grip has a pleasant natural patina consistent with age.

The scabbard is in excellent condition with its original black painted finish. It comes with the original leather belt loop for attachment.

An excellent and authentic piece for any World War I edged weapons collection. This knife was likely intended for officer use.
