War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords. Manufacturer: Otto Schickle. The cross is made of tombac and finished with silver plating. It bears the maker’s mark L/15, the official code for Schickle. What makes this piece particularly interesting is the presence of the L/15 mark in two places: on the reverse of the cross, just above the catch, and on the inside of the pin.
The cross comes in its original case, which features an embossed cross with a swastika on the lid — a design that is extremely rare. Both the cross and the case are in excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear.
This is a truly rare and highly collectible set, of great interest to military decoration collectors.
