Antique Japanese tsuba (sword guard), Edo period (18th century approx.). Made of iron with engraved floral designs on both sides. Round-oval (maru-gata) shape with two hitsu-ana.

The tsuba bears a clear signature (mei) next to the nakago-ana, reading “正” (Masa). This character was used by several generations of craftsmen from the Shoami school and related traditions. Possible names include Masayuki, Masanori, Masamitsu, or Masayoshi, though exact attribution requires further research.

Good antique condition with preserved patina. A signed example, which makes it more desirable and collectible compared to unsigned tsuba.
