Swiss officer’s saber (sabre/pallasch) — Model M1889, manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. The sword is complete and in excellent condition: the blade has a mirror-like shine — bright and free of corrosion or visible defects; the blade shows clear floral/ornamental etching and a sunburst motif with a cross as visible in the photos; the maker’s mark (the Eickhorn squirrel in an oval) is present and legible. The grip is in excellent condition — fishskin/wire wrap intact and tight; the guard is pierced/ornamental with the Swiss cross and not bent; the tassel/portepee is like new with no wear. The scabbard is dent-free with intact shiny plating, and the suspension rings/fittings are all present and sound.
