A rare SS service dagger by the maker Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. A model produced after 1933, featuring an ebony grip. The eagle and SS runic insignia are original and properly inset. The grip shows moderate signs of use.
The crossguards have not been cleaned; they remain nickel-plated with an attractive natural patina.
The blade is very clean and bright, bearing the motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue.” It retains virtually 100% of its original factory cross grain. The reverse ricasso is marked “RZM 534/38 SS,” corresponding to Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co., Solingen-Wald.
The scabbard retains virtually 100% of its original black finish.
The dagger is also complete with a leather horizontal hanger, which is in excellent condition.
A fine collectible example and an excellent addition to any collection.
