Blued steel tube with two telescoping spring segments. The cap is clearly marked SIPO (Sicherheitspolizei – Security Police). A D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster) marking is also present, but it is heavily worn and the numbers are no longer legible.
Dimensions: 16 cm (collapsed), 41 cm (extended). This example belongs to the larger version with a steel ball tip.
Historical Note. The Sicherheitspolizei (SiPo) was the combined force of the Gestapo and the Criminal Police, created in 1936. In September 1939 it was incorporated into the RSHA under Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler.
