A model 1936 SA Dagger. This is a textbook Helbig SA Dagger. These ones are unique and make some newbies wonder! These late daggers always have steel based nickel-silver plated crossguards, a high set eagle, thick pommel nut and a lightly etched motto and maker mark. The blade on this one looks fine. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "RZM M 7/73" (F u. A. Helbig, Steinbach) maker mark are exactly how Helbigs are. The crossgrain looks wonderful running the full length of the blade. It has a solid fit and the tip comes to a perfect point! It has some age grey. The steel based brown painted scabbard body is in good shape! It has a holds 99%+ of its painted finish. The steel plated scabbard fittings remain nice and bright with the radii matching the crossguards perfectly. The ball is perfectly round and all four screws remain intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The brown hardwood grip is chip and flake free! The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed with a perfect fit and is set high in the grip as is typical to Helbig RZM's. The SA roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. A fine piece at a fine price!
