This early rare SA dagger is an outstanding example of the standard issue Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch.

The blade is very bright, showing typical runner marks from repeated insertion into and removal from the scabbard. Only light signs of use are present on the surface. The fit is tight and secure, and the tip comes to a perfect point.

The acid-etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Rob Giersch, Solingen” maker mark are dark, crisp, and beautifully executed. Giersch is a rare and highly desirable maker, ranked 7 out of 10 on the McSarr rarity scale.

This dagger features a gorgeous grip with beautiful early nickel fittings that are matching throughout. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped “Wm”, indicating SA-Gruppe Westmark. The T-nut at the top of the grip shows crisp edges and appears never to have been turned.

The fruitwood grip is especially eye-catching, with excellent color and a light, elegant sheen. It is fitted with a very fine early nickel eagle and a nice early SA roundel.

This early rare SA dagger retains its correct original scabbard. The scabbard is in very fine condition, with an anodized body showing only slight age and honest wear. The nickel fittings match the grip beautifully. There are no dents or creases to note. The ball-shaped tip of the scabbard shows minor compressions consistent with age and natural period use.

This is a very handsome and highly collectible piece with much to offer.
