An original commemorative desk plaque from the First World War period, executed in the patriotic style of Imperial Germany.

The base is made of black glass with a smooth polished surface. The dimensions are approximately 16 × 9.5 cm.

Mounted on the front is a substantial decorative composition featuring the 1914 Iron Cross within an oak leaf wreath. The cross is decorated with the imperial crown, the letter W (the monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II), and the date 1914, fully consistent with the symbolism of the First World War period.

The decorative element is made of a heavy metal, most likely bronze or a patinated alloy, with an attractive natural age patina clearly visible on both the cross and the oak wreath, giving the piece an impressive collectible appearance.

Attached to the composition is a small metal plaque, most likely intended for a commemorative or presentation inscription. Unfortunately, the inscription is no longer present, which does not diminish the historical or decorative value of the piece.

The reverse retains its original felt backing, well preserved for its age.

The condition is excellent: the glass base is very well preserved, with only a small minor chip to the upper left corner, barely noticeable when displayed. The metal section shows a beautiful even patina and is free from damage.

A very fine and rare example for collectors of WWI militaria, Imperial German memorabilia, and historical decorative antiques.
