A very nice German combat fighting knife manufactured by the renowned and highly desirable firm PUMA / SOLINGEN.
The blade is in excellent condition, has never been sharpened, and retains its original factory transverse cross-graining, a highly desirable feature that confirms the original factory finish. The maker's mark is clearly stamped on the blade.
The classic red-brown bakelite grip is in excellent condition and remains firmly secured with its original rivets. The knife also retains its original leather retaining strap, a part that is commonly missing on surviving examples.
The knife is complete with its original scabbard, which retains the original boot-to-tunic attachment clip. The scabbard shows honest signs of period use consistent with its age, while remaining in very good overall condition.
