Polish Bayonet, Model 1929 – "Perkun"
This is a Polish Model 1929 bayonet manufactured by Perkun. It features a steel, single-edged blade with a double-sided shoulder and a double fuller with concave grinding. The spine is flat-ground, and the tip is single-edged and symmetrical.
The hilt is fitted with beech wood grips, secured to the tang with two steel screws and nuts. The scabbard is made of sheet steel, ending in a rounded protective ball. An oval catch is soldered to the scabbard body along with a reinforcing plate. Much of the original paint remains on the scabbard.
Markings:
Outer side of the blade shoulder: manufacturer’s mark – PERKUN, and a factory stamp – the letter M in an oval.
Inner side of the blade: Polish national emblem – crowned eagle, with the initials W.P. (Wojsko Polskie – Polish Army) below.
Outer side of the crossguard: bayonet serial number – 246593.
