A rare wall plaque depicting Adolf Hitler, designed by the renowned German sculptor Walther Wolff in 1933.
The plaque is in excellent collectible condition, with no damage, and retains its original wall mounting on the reverse.
The obverse features the artist's signature, "W. Wolff 33", on Hitler's neck. The reverse is marked "ges. gesch. B. LH."
The plaque is made of blackened iron and features the inscription:
"Ich glaube an Deutschland und kämpfe dafür heute und morgen und in der Zukunft, bis der Sieg unser ist."
which translates as:
"I believe in Germany and will fight for it today, tomorrow, and in the future until victory is ours."
This relief is one of Walther Wolff's best-known early portrait works and represents an important example of German medallic art of the early 1930s. Original examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, making this an attractive piece for advanced collectors.
An outstanding historical collectible and an excellent addition to any collection of German historical reliefs or Third Reich memorabilia.
