Officer’s Saber of the 2nd Hanoverian Dragoon Regiment No. 16 “Waterloo”, Model 1889
A splendid Prussian officer’s saber featuring rich etching: both sides of the blade are decorated with foliage motifs, trophies, and a decorative border; the reverse includes regimental emblems and further ornamentation. Some bluing remains in the recessed etched fields, enhancing relief.
The grip is in excellent condition — no chips, cracks or major damage. The blade has not been sharpened; visible traces of use. The ricasso bears a clear distributor’s stamp: “F. Schumacher, Lüneburg.”
Scabbard included; most paint has worn away; there is a small dent at the tip.
