Officer’s saber manufactured by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen (early maker’s mark with two back-to-back squirrels).
Distributor — H. Schuberth, Munich (inscription on the blade).
The blade is in excellent condition, free of nicks, richly etched with oak leaf motifs and the Bavarian motto “In Treue fest” (“Steadfast in loyalty”). The grip and guard are undamaged, with the wire wrapping fully intact.
The scabbard is original, in its factory black finish, with a small dent.
A rare and well-preserved piece, highly desirable for collectors of antique edged weapons and militaria.
