Iron Cross 1st Class by B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim. Three-piece construction with a soldered-on screw-back cylinder. The reverse is maker marked with the LDO code “L/18”. Complete with the original backing disc. The cross is in excellent condition, retaining all of the original black paint on the core and most of the polished frame finish. 
The cross comes complete with its original case, which is also in excellent condition. Inside the case there is an inked maker’s stamp “L/18”. The reverse of the case still retains the original old price sticker with the marked price.
“L/18” marked Iron Crosses are quite rare, and the presence of the original case with matching maker’s ink stamp and preserved price label makes this set especially scarce and highly desirable. An outstanding example for an advanced collection.
