A superb Imperial German award group from the First World War period, housed in its original presentation case. The set includes an Iron Cross 2nd Class, 1914, together with a Hamburg Hanseatic Cross. The awards are mounted on an original medal bar, with the reverse clearly marked DRP, confirming patented and original construction. The Iron Cross retains its full, deep factory blackened finish, with a well-preserved core. The suspension ring is stamped “We”, a manufacturer that is unknown. The Hamburg Hanseatic Cross is in outstanding condition, showing perfect, undamaged enamel with strong, vivid coloration. Also included is a set of award miniatures, suspended on a decorative chain with original pin fitting, adding to the completeness and visual appeal of the group. All components are in excellent condition, with no damage or restoration. The case is likewise exceptionally well preserved, featuring an image of the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914 on the lid, perfectly complementing the contents.
A very attractive and complete award group, sure to be a fine addition to any advanced Imperial German medal collection.
