A Government Official’s dagger manufactured by Alcoso Solingen (Coppel Alexander / ALCOSO, Solingen), in excellent collectible condition.
The dagger retains its full silvering throughout, with an even and attractive aged patina across all fittings.
The tang nut shows light oxidation, with no evidence of disassembly or tampering.
The eagle head pommel is sharply detailed and remains in excellent condition, free of damage.
The crossguard displays a pleasing natural patina consistent with original period finish.
The grip plates are made of mother-of-pearl imitation celluloid in a creamy yellow/golden tone, well matched, with no chips or damage.
The scabbard is straight throughout, free of dents or damage, and shows an even dark patina. The oak leaf and acorn fittings are finely detailed. The suspension rings feature the characteristic triple serration and remain crisp. The throat is secured by two side screws.
The blade is bright, clean, and completely free of corrosion or spotting, remaining in excellent condition and retaining nearly 100% of its original cross-graining. The reverse ricasso bears the maker’s trademark consisting of scales and the inscription “ALCOSO SOLINGEN”. The original black felt-type textile blade buffer is present.
A fine example of a Government Official’s dagger by “Alcoso”, in very good overall collectible condition.
