An original Kriegsmarine officer’s dress dagger in very high condition. The nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade features double narrow fullers and is decorated with crisp, double-sided etched designs depicting a fouled anchor and traditional maritime motifs. The blade is in outstanding condition, free from any staining, spotting, or damage, with the etching fully preserved.
The reverse ricasso bears the maker’s mark of Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, in the form of the firm’s squirrel-with-sword logo, consistent with original Eickhorn production. The blade locks securely into the crossguard via the push-button release. The gilded bronze crossguard is decorated with fouled anchors on both sides.
The grip is constructed of white ribbed celluloid, free from damage, retaining its original twisted wire wrap. The pommel features a gilded Kriegsmarine eagle with swastika. The dagger is fitted with an original officer’s portepee, well preserved and without damage or losses.
The scabbard is original and of a rare “scaly” pattern type, finished in gilded bronze and free from dents or deformation. The set is accompanied by its original Kriegsmarine officer’s hanger with fabric straps, gilded fittings, and chain.
A fully original, complete example in excellent collectible condition.
