General Assault Badge by F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. Constructed from copper-plated zinc with a silver finish. This particular variant is known for its excellent preservation of the finish: the silvering has been very well retained, and the zinc base remains in excellent condition without the typical flaking and deterioration often seen on many zinc badges. The reverse is marked with the maker’s mark and Assmann mold number “1”.
