An exceptionally rare original outer cardboard box for the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class by BH Mayer, Pforzheim.
The lid of the box features the inscription: "Iron Cross 1st Class 1939. To be opened only by the recipient." The side of the box bears the manufacturer's marking "BH Mayer, Pforzheim" with the maker's code (26).
The outer cardboard box is in excellent collector's condition, with no tears, dents, or other damage. Original outer boxes of this type are significantly harder to find than the standard presentation boxes for the Iron Cross 1st Class, especially in such well-preserved condition.
A truly exceptional addition to a BH Mayer Iron Cross 1st Class grouping, greatly enhancing the completeness and collector value of the set.
