Early SA M33 Dagger by Christian Swerk, Solingen.
An early SA M33 dagger by Christian Swerk, Solingen, preserved in very good condition.
The bright blade is in excellent condition. The crossgrain catches the light beautifully, while the crisply acid-etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto remains beautifully preserved. The Christian Swerk, Solingen maker’s mark is also extremely well defined and beautifully executed.
The blade shoulders perfectly match the contour of the lower crossguard, and the tip retains its correct, well-preserved shape.
The crossguard bears the “Nrh” marking, indicating SA-Gruppe Niederrhein (Lower Rhine). All metal fittings retain their original nickel-plated finish.
The grip is in excellent condition, with no damage or cracks.
The scabbard retains part of its original finish. The lower scabbard cup, including the ball, retains its original shape without deformation, a particularly pleasing feature of this example. The scabbard also displays a natural patina consistent with its age.
An attractive early SA dagger by the well-known and desirable manufacturer Christian Swerk, Solingen, and a fine addition to any serious collection.
Condition: Excellent.
