Near mint condition, with beautifully preserved gilding, a German deluxe WWII forestry (Nazi) dagger manufactured by F. W. Höller – Solingen. A well-known example in the collectors’ community, featuring a clear maker’s mark on the reverse of the blade. The hilt and clamshell are in outstanding condition with bright original gilding. This is the heavy brass model, not the later zinc version.
The steel blade is etched on both sides with detailed hunting scenes and retains its full original length and shape. Between the grip and crossguard is a rare decorative feature — an eagle with outstretched wings clutching a swastika, clearly indicating the dagger’s Nazi origin. This element is found only on a limited number of examples and makes the piece particularly desirable.
The scabbard is of typical deluxe construction, made of soft black leather with gilded brass fittings. The leather is undamaged, with tight, original stitching, and is in excellent condition. A green felt buffer pad is preserved between the grip and the scabbard.
The dagger is complete with its original silvered-green metallic portepee, also in excellent condition.
A rare opportunity to acquire such a unique and well-preserved piece for any serious collection.
