Rare Bulgarian youth knife of the Brannik organization, a Bulgarian youth organization established in 1940 and modeled in many respects on the German Hitlerjugend.
This example is of smaller-than-standard size, making it a particularly interesting and scarce variant of the Brannik knife, associated with the younger age group of the organization.
The handle is complete and in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage. The characteristic “B” emblem of the Brannik organization is present on the handle.
The blade is unmarked, with no motto, maker’s mark, or other markings. It shows light dark spotting and signs of use consistent with its age and history.
The scabbard is made of metal. Most of the original finish has been lost, showing natural age-related wear. The original leather belt strap and attachment are in excellent condition. The leather remains soft and supple, with no cracks, creases, or significant drying.
A very rare and desirable piece of Bulgarian WWII youth organization history, and an excellent addition to any collection of European youth organization or military-related edged weapons.
