Heer Army Officer’s Dagger by Friedericus, Solingen
This is an outstanding and exceptionally attractive example of a Heer Army Officer’s Dagger. The dagger was manufactured by Friedericus, Solingen, a maker that is extremely rarely encountered among Heer Army Officer’s Daggers. Examples by this maker are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity.
The blade is in fantastic condition, retaining its gorgeous original luster. The maker’s mark is applied to the ricasso in the form of the inscription “Friedericus Solingen.”
The handle of this exceptionally attractive dagger is stunning. The fittings have a beautiful old patina, with some areas displaying pleasant pastel rainbow toning. All of the original details remain beautifully preserved.
The grip is made of white material and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage.
The dagger is complete with its original scabbard. The scabbard is nice and straight, with a well-preserved finish and a patina that perfectly complements the handle.
The set also includes an original Portepee.
Of particular interest is the rarity of the Friedericus, Solingen maker. Daggers by this maker are encountered only very rarely, and this particular example is further distinguished by its excellent condition, beautiful patina, and complete configuration. A truly rare and exceptionally attractive piece for the advanced collector.
