ALLACH 'HITLERJUGEND TROMMLER' NO. 31

A scarce, early Allach piece, 'Hitlerjugend Trommler', of 'Hitler Youth Drummer' by ceramic sculptor Richard Forster. The 10 3/4 in. tall white porcelain figure depicts a Hitler Youth in full uniform marching forward as he works the tall drum fixed to his waist. The underside to the figure bears Forster's name, the model number, and Allach's entwined runes. In this case, the runes are surrounded by scroll work only seen on issued from 1936 or earlier. In fine condition, with no discernible damage whatsoever. The porcelain factory Porzellan Manufaktur Allach was established as a private concern in 1935. In 1936 the factory was acquired by Heinrich Himmler to produce works of art that would represent, in Himmler's eyes, true Germanic culture. Production was based at Allach, the largest subcamp of Dachau, and it used slave labor in the production of these pieces. A very rare piece, representing the 'Aryan' ideal.
