An excellent example of a short KS 98 bayonet, manufactured by Anton Wingen, Solingen. The nickel-plated blade is in outstanding condition, retaining its bright finish and crisp lines.
The ricasso bears the maker’s mark in the form of a knight, with the inscription “Anton Wingen Solingen”.
The hilt features nickel-plated fittings and black checkered plastic grip panels in the traditional waffle pattern.
The bayonet comes complete with its original black-painted steel scabbard and black leather frog. Overall, this is a well-preserved and highly attractive set.
Of particular interest is the Anton Wingen, Solingen maker, which is encountered considerably less frequently on the market than many other manufacturers, making this an especially interesting piece for collectors of German edged weapons.
