The yellow piping along the edges indicates that this cap was intended for flying personnel or paratroopers (Fallschirmjäger). The inside bears a manufacturer’s stamp dated 1938, confirming early production.
This particular example has no visible damage — there are no stains, no moth holes, and no significant wear on the fabric. The leather sweatband on the inside (commonly referred to as "sweatband" or "leather sweatband" in collector terminology) shows some damage in certain areas, which is typical for items of this age.
Overall, the cap presents very well visually and remains a good representative piece. It is perfectly suitable for display purposes, including on a mannequin.
