Meissen porcelain, obverse with map of Crete in the centre, a swastika above and a fasces below, flanked by crossed swords on either side, inscribed “EINNAHME VON KRETA” above and “20. MAI - 1. JUNI 1941” below, reverse illustrating seven parachutists descending from three planes, crossed swords below, surrounded by the inscription “SIEG DER FALLSCHIRMJÄGER-LUFTLANDETRUPPEN UND FLIEGER”, 50.3 mm, extremely fine.
Meissen porcelain, comes complete with its original red presentation box. The medal itself is preserved in excellent condition, with no notable damage or defects.
A very attractive and well-preserved collector’s set, combining historical significance with fine craftsmanship. A rare and visually striking ensemble that would make a highly desirable addition to any serious collection.
