Original German field honor badge from the period of the First World War. Tombac, multi-piece construction with riveted assembly and soldered fittings, rivets are tight and secure. The reverse of the main badge is marked “Hamburg 11” and “Ges. Gesch.”. The set also includes the original miniature badge for buttonhole wear (Knopfloch-Miniatur) with ribbon, the reverse of the miniature is marked “GES. GESCH.”. The set comes complete in its original presentation box. The lid of the box is marked “Deutsches Feld-Ehren-Zeichen e. V., Hamburg 11, GES. GESCH.”. Inside the box the maker is printed as “Inhaber- und Ordensfabrik M. Fleck & Sohn, founded 1882, Hamburg 3, Michaelisbrücke 8–10, Tel. Sammel-Nr. 35251”. Overall condition is excellent. The enamel is fully intact with no chips or damage, and the swords retain attractive original gilding. Only minimal age-related wear is present, with no repairs or restoration.
An excellent complete set, highly desirable to collectors of German awards and World War I memorabilia, and a fine addition to any serious collection.
