The blade is steel, straight in form, and well preserved, retaining clean lines and correct geometry.

The blade bears the original maker’s mark of Carl Julius Krebs, executed in the characteristic style associated with this respected manufacturer. This marking represents the official trademark of Carl Julius Krebs of Solingen, a well-known and highly regarded producer of military edged weapons, established in 1866. This mark is highly valued among collectors and serves as confirmation of the dagger’s authenticity and historical significance.
